Muzae Sesay (b. 1989, Long Beach, CA) lives and works in Oakland, CA. Sesay’s abstract renderings often explore the notion of memory—including its formation and fragmentation—as well as identity and human connection in relation to environments and architectural spaces both real and imagined.
His public projects have included a 2018 mural with the Museum of African Diaspora and St. Vincent de Paul (San Francisco, CA); and the 2017 Facebook Artist-in-Residency program (Menlo Park, CA). He has had solo exhibitions at pt. 2 Gallery (Oakland, CA), Eighteen Gallery (Copenhagen), and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (San Francisco, CA).
