Gabriel Mills (b. 1992, New Rochelle, NY) is an artist whose painting practice sits at the convergence of several themes; among them are time, transformation, love, language, weight, and spirituality. His canvas serves as a platform for a versatile array of painting methods, showcasing musings on the complexities of experience through cadences of dense topographical consistencies, smooth atmospheric surfaces, and enigmatic arrangements of images.
Mills received an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from the Yale School of Art, New Haven, CT 2021, and a BFA in Illustration and Art History from the University of Hartford, Hartford, CT. Notable solo exhibitions include TIDSOPTIMIST, at Micki Meng, San Francisco, CA (2022) and Butterfly March, at Alexander Berggruen, New York (2022). Mills will have his first museum solo exhibition at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in 2024.
